Account Coordinator - Public Relations

Located in the Metro Washington D.C. area, Sage Communications is a full-service marketing communications and public relations agency that provide a unique fusion of public relations, advertising, marketing, branding, social media, interactive, and event management services. Sage Communications has an opening for a PR Account Coordinator at the entry level or with 1-2 years of experience. We’re looking for highly ambitious individuals who can work efficiently, think creatively and reap the benefits of growing with us, with the capability to juggle demands in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Our Account Coordinators play a key and visible role in the execution of integrated PR campaigns for our clients. As a Sage AC, you will receive intensive training and learn through real-life experience what it takes to be a successful PR professional, where you will have the opportunity to build relationships with global media, bloggers and social media influencers, leading to positive awareness and coverage for each of your clients.

The coordinator will be responsible for supporting strategic PR and social media campaigns including pitching reporters, drafting press releases and feature stories, crafting award nominations, building media lists, and other responsibilities that will grow your knowledge and career skills.

We are looking for:

Desired Experience

•1-2 years of work/intern experience in public relations and/or related communications fields

•Agency PR experience is great, but not required

•Government and/or technology experience a plus

OBJECTIVE

Assist account team in the daily servicing of their clients and support other agency activities on an as-needed basis.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides day-to-day support/services to assigned clients
  • Deliver quality materials on time and on budget
  • Move a project forward to completion after the scope has been defined and approved
  • Partner with other departments within Sage from the beginning to start the project off correctly
  • Manage your client’s budget and billing
  • Assist Account Leads with all aspects of a campaign both internally and with the client
  • Facilitate status calls and client meetings as needed
  • Act as a liaison between all departments within Sage and the client to ensure the completion of projects

  • Become familiar with products, and tactical elements of a marketing plan and how they are used.
  • Become an expert on your client’s product, industry, solution, messaging, brand, objectives, competitors, etc.
  • Make all arrangements for internal team meetings and client meetings, including ordering and setting up refreshments, booking conference rooms, etc.
  • Review all work orders, revisions, estimates for accuracy and completeness before delivering them to the client
  • Prepare timelines in conjunction with the creative team and traffic; understand and support traffic system
