Sage Communications Receives American Marketing Association D.C. Top Marketer, Outstanding Marketer Awards
October 26, 2012 - McLean, VA — Sage Communications, a leading full-service marketing communications, branding, public relations and event planning firm based in the D.C. Metro area, is pleased to announce it has received two American Marketing Association Washington, D.C. (AMADC) awards, the AMADC Top Marketer award and the AMADC Outstanding Marketer award. The AMADC Top Marketer Award program honors marketing projects conducted in the greater Washington D.C. metro area, with an emphasis on the results achieved.
Sage was recognized in the non-profit category for its work on the 2012 D.C. Jazz Festival (DCJF) and the National Cherry Blossom Festival’s Centennial Celebration. AMADC Top Marketer Award applicants are judged on elements including innovation and creativity, achievements, challenges overcome, and impact on the business and industry. Results achieved by the marketing campaigns are given three times the weight of the other award categories.
“For both the National Cherry Blossom Festival Centennial Celebration and the D.C. Jazz Festival, Sage provided a unique combination of branding, marketing, public relations and social media support to meet the individual Festival’s goals,” said David Gorodetski, co-founder and COO, Sage Communications, “We believe that results are the true measure of any integrated marketing campaign. Receiving two AMADC awards is a great honor, as the results focus of the recognition is a key to the unique value Sage provides.”
The 2012 D.C. Jazz Festival Marketing Campaign received the AMADC Top Marketer award. As the DCJF’s public relations and marketing partner since its inception in 2005, Sage has continuously increased recognition and interest in what is now D.C.’s largest music festival. With a comprehensive marketing, branding and public relations plan, Sage introduced the DCJF app, reached more than 35 million people through media placements, and through the 10-day Jazz at the Hamilton series drove greater attendance to the venue than ever before in a period of 10 days.
Sage’s marketing campaign for the National Cherry Blossom Festival received the AMADC Outstanding Marketer Award. The Festival engaged Sage to establish a cohesive and recognizable brand that would increase community and sponsor participation, increase tourism to the D.C. area over a Festival length increased from three to five weeks, and introduce the Festival as the Nation’s springtime celebration. Sage guided messaging and branding efforts, acting as a partner to the Festival as it developed and executed a comprehensive marketing plan. The Festival achieved new records with a 29 percent increase in web site traffic and a 14 percent increase in Festival app downloads over 2011, and national syndication of the National Cherry Blossom Parade for the first time.
The 80th Anniversary Top Marketer Awards were sponsored by AMADC and the Washington Business Journal. Sage accepted its AMADC Awards at the Top Marketer Awards Gala at the Carnegie Institution for Science on Thursday, October 25.
