Employee Spotlight: Mulaney
What are your duties in a typical day here at Sage?
I like to start my day by greeting everyone in the office. I think of it as a good opportunity to lift my team members’ spirits and get some early-morning belly scratches in. I then sniff around the entire space for potential client leads and for forgotten crumbs that need to be eaten up. I split my time between the barketing and pawblic relations departments and help by providing ample amounts of face licks for those in need of attention. Petworking and networking are my fortes, so I interact with other dogs and pawtential clients when necessary. I have two bones that need to be chewed on daily basis that consume most of my time. Some days are ruff so I take 2-4 naps a day, because working is hard and nobody wants a grumpy puppy in the office.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in an Office Dog role?
My favorite piece of advice is to show dependability and trustworthiness to your coworkers, clients or social media followers, just as dogs show unwavering loyalty to their owners.
What is your favorite way to spend Flex Friday? (Sagers work an extra 30 minutes everyday to have half days every other Friday!)
I love to visit the Shirlington Dog Park. I recommend it to any working or stay-at-home dog. It is a great place to run around and relieve stress after a long week.
What is the most exciting thing you’re working on right now?
I just helped organize Sage’s annual Bring Your Dog to Work Day. I look forward to showing my fellow canines the office and possibly inspiring some pups to join as my interns. It would be nice if someone could throw me a bone every once in a while and fetch my toys for me.
Who inspires you?
As a fellow mutt, Instagram influencer, @tunameltsmyheart, inspires me to embrace my unique breed and to be proud of myself on social media. I am a one-of-a-kind mutt and I love knowing there is no other dog on this planet like me. You can follow me at @mulaneythemutt to see my fashionable looks and funny facial expressions.
What quote do you live by?
"PLAY DIRTY! Dive into mudpits. Roll in old poop. Dig tunnels in the sand. You're only a puppy once. There's time to be clean later." –Unknown
Where is your favorite place to travel?
My coworker, Paris Kissel, lets me join her on her trips home to her family’s carnival. I love visiting new cities in the south and eating dropped funnel cakes and corn dogs on the fairgrounds.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
- I plan to one day eat at an entire meat-lovers pizza by myself in one sitting.
- I have recently applied to UC Barkley, MarmaDuke, Muttsachussets Insticute of Tehnolodog Corgi Mellon, Ruffgers and Boston Collie. I hope to soon obtain my Barkchelors Degree, double majoring in sit and stay.
- I wish to one day be promoted to C-arf-O of Sage Communications.
What is the most important lesson you’ve learned while at Sage?
Do not go to the bathroom on the carpet.
